SOCI@L ended with a call. We are called to do more than "like" Jesus. Becoming a Christian doesn't stop at knowing who Jesus was and saying I "like" that.

We are called to "Follow" Jesus. And that means that we have to allow God to be the one that leads us, and its impossible to follow something on your own. We must depend on God to provide for us.

Being SOCI@L is not about how can I become a better person or even a better (Christian).
Being SOCI@L is about how do I become more like Jesus.
How can I deny myself take up my cross and allow God to lead me to make disciples.
Like Drake said in the video,

"You have to push out of that (selfish way of thinking) and just start loving the people around you, and you'll just be surprised how much God takes care of all that other stuff (shaping you to be like Jesus)."

God has called us to step out on faith and to follow him. Being "SOCI@L is way more than just telling someone about Jesus. Its about Discipleship.

Matthew 14:28-29
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

God calls us to make the decision to deny ourselves.
God calls us to cast aside our fears.
God calls us to keep our eyes on him as we walk the path he creates for us, even if we can't see the path.

It takes faith.
It takes sacrifice.
In fact to truly follow Jesus, IT TAKES EVERYTHING!

I loved doing this series with my group the past month. I ended up sharing about half of my "testimony" with them the last night. I don't think I have really told that full story since I spoke at a lock-in in 2011, so I may end up trying to blog that one of these days before I forget some important details.
As always its been a pleasure!
Until next time -Just Jon
