New Year, New Start?
Praise the lord! Tons of stuff has happened since last writing. It is almost too much to write about...... ALMOST. So when I left off I was looking for a job, getting ready for a huge lock-in, looking for a place to live and trying to figure out how to pay for school. Now a week later: I think I have found a church to serve in, the lock-in was better than we could have imagined, I found a place to live, and my prayers have been answered and someone gave me three thousand dollars for school. I could just end the blog there and not give any details but then everyone would be so mad at me and probably throw virtual tomatoes at me :( soooo if you want the long version just read the story under the video. This video I feel, embodies how I am/was feeling through all of these things.
So the Lock-in: We had planned on having about 250 kids come in and have a worship service, games, a pizza party, a concert, and then head off to do bowling, laser tag, ice skating, broom hockey, dodgeball and volleyball. All that happened but we ended up having around 350 kids instead of 250. It put a little stress on us, the building got hot/full and we had to order more pizza, but it ended up working out great! I was happy to see 350 kids from all over Tennessee come fellowship with each other all night. We ended the night by taking our personal group out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. This might explain why I haven't blogged in a week. I slept until Sunday it felt like.
So the Job: I have been searching and praying for God to lead me to a place to serve. This week has been very good for me as far making a decision in that area. I think I have something lined up that I want to take. More on that in the future.
So the Home: I moved to Williamson County!!! Well I mean I moved into my grandparents house in Nolensville. I got my own little section with a washing machine, bathroom, bedroom and parking by a door that doesn't disturb them. It is almost like having an apartment.
So the Money: My great grandmother heard that I did not have enough money to finish school and out of nowhere offered to pay the remaining three thousand dollars that I need to enroll back into school as a part time student. I plan to do this. I couldn't believe it when I heard that she was going to do that for me. It is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me!
Faith in God is the greatest gift I have been given. It takes a lot to wear a smile when you are worried about everything going on in your life, but my faith in God gave me the strength to do it. Praise the Lord! - Just Jon
